Mike Branigan is co-founder and creator of Colorado Construction & Design (CCD) magazine. He has 40 years of experience in marketing communications and 25 years specific to marketing the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (A/E/C) industries. He previously worked in construction marketing for American City Business Journals and with McGraw-Hill Construction.
Mike is responsible for the day-to-day operation of CCD. He assists building industry executives with their advertising, marketing, sponsorships and business interactions with the magazine. He is the winner of five Marketing Excellence Awards for “best magazine,” and active in numerous industry associations. Mike is a publishing partner with AIA Colorado, ACEC Colorado and official publisher for AGC Colorado.
Nancy Branigan is Vice President of Colorado Construction & Design, Inc.
She is an enrolled agent to the IRS with 32 years of tax accounting and tax representation experience. She spent 20 years working with the law practice of tax attorney Charles Parnell at American Tax Services and joined Accounting & Tax Solutions in 2013 as an enrolled agent and income tax professional.
In 2015, Nancy became a co-owner of Colorado Construction & Design, Inc. and manages accounts payable and accounts receivable for CCD.
Polly Emmons has 18 years of experience in graphic design and business consulting and 13 years as a Software/Control Systems Engineer. She has a keen sense of how photos, images, and design elements complement and enhance the written word. Polly is a gifted designer whose wide range of experience in the A/E/C industry adds depth and new ideas now and into the future of CCD. As the editor, she helps to bring in stories and writers and attends industry events and seminars. Polly is also responsible for CCD's website design, maintenance, and social media efforts.
Prior to becoming Editor and Creative Director, Polly held positions as a freelance graphic designer for her business CommOcean Media, LLC, was an email marketing campaign specialist at Invite Systems, and was a sporting event publication designer for State Publications based in Minnesota. She served as a Software/Control Systems Engineer for Control Systems, Inc., Honeywell Xceed, and Samuel Engineering.
Sean O'Keefe articulates the complexities, camaraderie, and delights of building the world’s infrastructure, one project at a time. As a regular contributor to Colorado Construction & Design, Sean leads the effort to Round Up market-specific projects coming to fruition while illuminating the designers, builders and developers that make it all happen. In this work, Sean enjoys staying in the know and developing stories about projects and people that readers of any expertise can relate to.
With more than 17 years of experience writing about design and construction, both as an in-house marketer and a consultant, Sean understands the how’s and why’s of the built environment in ways few writers can. Beyond his work with Colorado Construction & Design and other publications, Sean provides integrated communications services to architects, engineers, and contractors ranging from public relations to marketing strategy. Julie Wanzer, LEED AP, is a Feature Reporter and Contributor to Colorado Construction and Design magazine. She has 14 years of experience in marketing communications with a focus on writing and reporting for the Architecture/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) industry. She first entered the construction publishing industry at McGraw Hill Construction and has been published by numerous entities and trade publications since then.
She developed this passion for the built environment and an in-depth knowledge of the A/E/C industry by working hands-on with engineers, architects, project managers, superintendents, principals and project executives from various firms in Colorado and across the nation. She is capable of asking thought-provoking questions in order to capture and communicate the significance of building projects to owners, its users and the community.
