Legislative Committee
The AGC Legislative Committee is a group of members that collaborate to address important issues affecting the industry. The group focuses on the state legislative process and bills, as well as major state agencies like the state architect, Co Dept of Labor & Employment (CDLE) and Co Dept of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE), as well as local entities like Denver, Colorado Springs, and Ft. Collins. Members also interview candidates for the state legislature and approve Political Action Committee contributions to candidates. The committee meets (virtually) twice a month from Jan - May and once a month the remainder of the year.
Mountain Committee
The AGC Mountain Committee meets in Glenwood Springs to addresses mountain area issues and develop events and programs. The committee is currently focusing on creating a multi school district Career Technical Education (CTE) center for high school construction trades program, most likely in the Rifle area. AGC and our Construction Education Foundation would provide curriculum and instructor support for both the high school and adult pre-apprenticeship programs at the center. The committee also holds several networking receptions, developer presentations, and a summer golf tournament.
