Stephen Covey, an American educator, author, and businessman is famously quoted as saying “Seek first to understand, and then to be understood,” in one of his most published books The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. When asked about what his favorite aspect of being a member and sponsor of AGC of Colorado is, Ray Nibbe, Operations Manager at Wagner Rents responded, “To gain a better understanding of the challenges of being a contractor.” This realization aligns with Covey’s principles in that in order to better serve your clientele, you must first understand them – what are their pain points and how can you help solve them.
Wagner Rents has been an active member of the AGC of Colorado since 1990 and has worked to gain this understanding from general contractors and specialty contractors alike. Nibbe emphasized that the Wagner family instilled the notion that Wagner Rents is not just an industry supplier, but a partner to their clients. These partnerships would not have been possible without the active role Wagner Rents has taken by volunteering for AGC of Colorado events, serving on the Associates Council and Specialty Contractors Council, and also sponsoring several initiatives spearheaded by the AGC of Colorado. “As an equipment supplier, we are proud to contribute to the success of our clients’ projects,” commented Nibbe. “Even if it’s just for a small one-day job with a quick turnaround, or for the long-term construction sites where the entire construction team is depending on our equipment.” As a Colorado owned and operated, family-business, Wagner Rents is proud to be a part of the AGC of Colorado to continue understanding what general and specialty contractors need to succeed.
