Thompson River Pediatrics Builds Toward the Future
Since opening in 2015, Thompson River Pediatrics has seen a steady stream of new patients and today finds themselves eagerly anticipating the completion of a new 9,953-SF medical facility. Located in Johnstown since inception, the practice has been in collaboration with SPD Architecture, Professional Engineering Consultants, and Bryan Construction on the new facility. When it opens in late 2019 the new space is expected to allow Thompson River Pediatrics to increase partnerships with other specialists to provide top-notch care to Northern Colorado.

allow daylight to fill the central space, which includes separate well-child / sick-child check-in areas. Beyond the examination rooms and 18 provider offices, the facility will include a physical therapy gym, an autism- friendly sensory gym, low radiation x-ray services, a laboratory, and an outdoor sensory garden. Sustainable features being incorporated will include energy efficient building systems, water-efficient landscaping, and naturally-renewable materials such as cork and Marmoleum flooring.
Construction broke ground in March 2019 and is expected to be completed prior to the end of the year.
Gary Pavilion at The Children’s Hospital Improves Flexibility
Davis Partnership Architects and builder, TKM Group, are working with The Children’s Hospital of Colorado on a 1,200-SF facility improvement project on the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora. Located
just east of I-225 on Colfax, the Gary Pavilion at The Children’s Hospital is an outpatient behavioral health clinic and child development unit. The design strives to increase flexible space options for the facility to accommodate changing models in care, staffing, collaboration, and organization now and in the future. As technology enhances how people work, the newly developed space will allow employees who generally work remotely to access drop-in workspaces while in the office.
Construction began in February 2019 and is expected to be complete in June. The build-out will include
a new conference room and a full kitchen and
dining area.
