As part of the National Center for Construction Education and Research, Colorado Career & Technical Education (CTE) is focused on providing learners access to high-quality training programs that align with industry demand and lead to high-wage, high-skill employment by diminishing barriers and amplifying opportunities to successful construction careers. With a mission of ensuring a thriving Colorado economy by providing relevant and rigorous education that is connected, responsive, and real. The program supports preparatory and continuing education stretching from middle schools, high schools, technical colleges, community colleges, as well as business and industry needs.
Colorado State University Department
of Construction Management
With a goal of building future leaders, CSU’s highly recognized degree program features collaborations, service-learning, and national competitions providing hands-on learning opportunities for students. CSU offers the only undergraduate program in Colorado that is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education. One of the University’s most popular majors, the Construction Management degree from CSU features one of the highest placement rates and entry-level salaries of all majors.
Next Gen Equipment Training
Providing valuable, leading-edge training for heavy equipment operators, civil planning, and drone
operations, Next Gen Equipment Training fills a vital niche in specialized construction education. Incorporating hands-on learning through high-tech simulators of six different types of heavy equipment, Next Gen serves a local and national customer-base from their Golden, CO training center. A comprehensive 10-topic course in civil planning teaches builders how to understand civil engineering plans to be precisely executed in the field. The commercial drone flight training program helps operators save time and money, improve onsite safety, and eliminate ambiguity in understanding federal, state, and local regulations around this emerging field of study.

The three owners of Trivent Safety Consulting Bryan McClure, Dax Biederman and Scott Seppers are all former tradesman and have made it their mission to provide
a pathway for tradespeople to obtain the highest form
of professional recognition possible in their given occupation. With over 79 years of combined Ironworker, Crane Operator and Safety & Health experience, their instructors make every class a training experience that relates back to the work environment.
Trivent Safety Consulting offers a three-year Ironworker apprentice program that is sponsored by the Steel Erectors Association of America and registered with the Federal Department of Labor. Apprentices attend classes one Friday a month in Denver. At the conclusion of their apprenticeship, the apprentices will have completed 475 hours of classroom and lab study and 6000 hours of on the job learning. The apprentices will receive Journeyman Ironworker certificates from NCCER and the DOL/BAT after the successful completion of the program.
Crane Operator
Trivent Safety Consulting is an accredited NCCER Crane Operator certifications provider. Operators who would like to obtain their crane operator certifications can attend a three-day preparatory class for the written exam. Once the written exam has been successfully completed, a Trivent examiner will proctor the practical exam to the crane operator onsite. Same day written & practical test results and the ability to test operators on the cranes that they are familiar with, are some benefits that make Trivent’s Crane Operator Certification program exceptional.
All Trivent classes have been designed by a CPTD (Certified Professional in Talent & Development). Their goal is to engage the learner continually throughout their education so that the highest level of knowledge transfer can occur. The hope is that every tradesperson that attends a Trivent class rediscovers a love for learning. |
