Swinerton Announces Employee Transition and Promotions
As Swinerton’s Colorado Division continues to diversify its market participation and increase associated operational capacity, Swinerton announces the transition of Aaron Townsend to Director of Target Markets from Director
of Preconstruction. Complimenting Aaron’s transition, Tyler Whittaker has been promoted to Director of Preconstruction.

Southern Illinois University in Edwards with his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management. He’s been in the industry for over 13 years and joined Swinerton in 2013.
Kris Kreymborg has been promoted to Senior Project Manager. Kris joined Swinerton in 2012 as part of the division’s first intern class in 2012. Kris graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Colorado State University.

Reza Akhavan Joins HNTB to Lead
the Transportation Practice in Colorado
Reza Akhavan, PE, has joined HNTB Corporation as vice president and transportation practice leader in Colorado. Based in the firm’s Denver office, Akhavan works closely with state and local transportation agencies to deliver solutions that address the most complex transportation challenges in one of the fastest-growing areas in
the nation.
Akhavan comes to HNTB after working with other engineering consulting firms, most recently serving in the roles of vice president and Rocky Mountain operations
manager. He was responsible for the delivery of major projects that include RTD - Denver’s FasTracks program, Denver International Airport’s Concourse Expansion and Colorado Department of Transportation’s Central
70 projects. He also has a 27-year tenure with CDOT, working in engineering roles before serving as transportation director.
Akhavan holds a Bachelor of Science in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Colorado at Denver.
White Construction Group Announces New Hires
Jesus Gutierrez has joined WCG as a project engineer. Gutierrez is a graduate of Colorado State University-Pueblo’s construction management program and brings nearly five years of industry experience to the company. Gutierrez is currently supporting the Vib Hotel team.
WCG also welcomes Allison Tobin has been named project accountant. Tobin brings more than 30 years of construction accounting experience to the firm.
