JR Engineering Adds New Business Development Manager
  David Hoesing
JR Engineering, a Denver-based, comprehensive multidisciplinary design services firm with offices throughout Colorado’s front range, has added David Hoesing as their regional Business Development Manager. Dave’s initial responsibilities will focus primarily on marketing and service sales to help grow the firm’s business opportunities in northern Colorado, officing out of their Fort Collins office. He has over 30 years of experience in supporting both the construction and tech industries as a BD professional and executive, including having operated as JR’s VP and Director of BD from 2006 through 2011.
Dave attended Regis University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with minors in Marketing and MIS, and is a campaign era veteran of the USAF.

Gary Thomas, P.E.
Gary Thomas graduated from Colorado State University in 1974 and joined Ketchum, Konkel, Barrett, Nickel, Austin (KKBNA), Martin/ Martin’s predecessor firm identity. In 1985 Gary was promoted to Principal, midst the severe economic recession in the 1980s, and just prior to the acquisition of KKBNA assets by the Martin Organization in 1988. Two years later, Gary was named Civil Department Manager; a position in
which he would proudly serve for 21 years. On
April 1, 1990, Gary was elected to Martin/Martin’s Board of Directors. The apogee of his upward career path took place in 2006, when he was named Martin/Martin’s first local President, after taking over the position of President from John “Trailer” Martin. Gary has participated in a leadership role for a significant portion of Martin/Martin’s 32-year existence, influencing the company, its direction, and ultimately its success.

Jake Hoffman, a member of the Structural Engineering team in Thornton Tomasetti’s Denver office, has been promoted to Associate. Hoffman has been with the firm since 2012, and has an extensive background
in the analysis and design of
a variety of structures. He has played an integral role in such Front Range projects as Market Station, Riverview at 1700 Platte
Gary Smith
Gary Smith, a 26 year veteran of the architecture, construction and engineering marketplace (formerly with Ken’s Reproductions)
has joined the team at Colorado Construction & Design magazine.
“Smith’s expertise in print marketing makes him a great addition to the CCD team,” says
Street, Google’s Pearl Place campus, Buell Public Media Center, and the Lincoln Avenue Pedestrian Bridge in Lone Tree. Hoffman has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Tulane University and Purdue University, respectively, and is a licensed professional engineer.
