 AIA Colorado Announces New CEO
AIA Colorado is pleased
to announce that after conducting a nationwide executive search, the organization has hired Mike Waldinger, Honorary AIA as Executive Vice President & CEO.
Waldinger has served as the Executive Vice President at AIA Illinois—the fourth largest AIA state chapter in the country—for 18 years.
During his tenure, Waldinger has authored and negotiated laws on architecture practice, project delivery, building
codes and sustainability; built an emergency response network of architects who were deployed to help communities recover from natural disasters; launched a leadership development institute; and increased visibility of architects through lobby days, industry partnerships and local awards programs.
Additionally, Waldinger serves as a special consultant to the Executive Vice President and CEO at the national American Institute of Architects, and has received numerous national honors, including a Component Leadership Award, a Distinguished Service Award and a Richard Upjohn Fellowship. He also cofounded AEC Cares, an organization which extends free architecture and construction services to communities in need.
 KTGY Architecture + Planning Welcomes Christine King
Christine King, FSMPS, CPSM, has joined the Denver office of KTGY Architecture + Planning as regional development director. In her new role, King is responsible for strengthening and growing client relation- ships in the Mountain States market and contributing to
the firm’s client-focused initiatives. King is working
in collaboration with Jeremy Agraz, KTGY’s national development director, and Denver office leaders: Terry Willis, AIA, LEED AP, principal, BILL Ramsey AIA, NCARB, LEED AP principal and Nathan Sciarra, AIA, NCARB, associate principal.
Dave Maddocks Promoted to Director of Finance and Accounting
Dave Maddocks was recently promoted to Director of Finance and Accounting for Brinkman Construction.
Dave holds a master’s
and bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Northern Colorado.
Dave spent the first part of his career in public accounting and auditing for government institutions before joining Brinkman Construction to lead the company’s accounting team in financial analysis
and budgeting.
Merrick & Company’s President, Chris Sherry Named CEO
Merrick & Company’s Board
of Directors has elected Christopher C. Sherry as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the firm, effective April 1, 2019. Sherry has served as the firm’s President for the past two years and will continue those responsibilities as he assumes
the additional role of CEO. He will become Merrick’s fifth CEO in the firm’s 63-year history.
Sherry is an architectural engineering graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder, and holds an MBA from the Daniels College of Business, University of Denver.
Bryan Construction Welcomes Vanessa Nagel as Manager of Business Development and Marketing
Vanessa Nagel is a Business Development and Marketing strategist who partners with community leaders, developers, and business owners to build
or renovate their commercial and federal projects. After a decade of working in media sales and management, Vanessa
knows what drives the business and marketing wheels in Southern Colorado.
Vanessa holds a B.S. in Communications and Political Science from Colorado State University-Pueblo.
