Additional design and construction highlights include:
• The main entrance to the stadium at the northeast corner will feature a large sculptural element consisting of a large stainless steel sphere and two 65 foot. diameter rings suspended on columns over the sphere.
• The grandstand seating will provide a variety of seating options, from fixed, folding stadium seats, bench seating, standing zones, and private cabana box seating areas.
• The west, north and east sides of the stadium will
have tensioned, fabric canopies providing cover and protection from the elements for upper row sections of the seating bowl.
• Exterior materials include cast in place concrete, brick masonry, cement stucco, metal shingle cladding, glazed curtain wall and storefront systems.
• Roofing – TPO fully adhered roof membrane system.
• Waterproofing at the west concourse deck over the enclosed team level below will be a fully adhered PVC plaza deck membrane system.
• Stadium / field lighting.
• Stadium LED Scoreboard and sound system.
• The playing field features a professional grade, FIFA rated artificial turf system.

There are three levels to the stadium:

• Concourse Level
- Open air perimeter concourse space with enclosed
concessions, toilet rooms, merchandise / team
shops, and additional support spaces
- Northwest corner outdoor restaurant terrace space
• Sky
- 5,000 square foot Sky Club featuring a continuous
line of operable overhead doors opening up the
entire field side wall for spectator viewing
- Toilet room facilities and support spaces
The United Soccer League is experiencing rapid growth with new locations in major metropolitan areas including San Diego, New York City, and the Bay Area. Switchbacks Stadium is the latest and greatest addition to the immensely popular league. It will not only serve the USL well, but it will become a hub of activity and fun for all the people living in and visiting Colorado Springs.
