Ideally situated between Denver and Colorado Springs, Castle Rock has become a hub for new development and business opportunities. In fact, more than 1,389,954 square feet of commercial development has been completed during the past five years and more than 565,788 square feet is either underway or anticipated during the next five years, and the attraction is clear.
Castle Rock’s current population has surpassed 70,000 people (climbing from 478 residents in 1930), with more people and businesses turning their attention here for an array of reasons. Residents enjoy the wide-open spaces (5,475 acres, to be exact), activities and amenities at every turn and a small town feel enhanced by the charm of an ever-buzzing Main Street. Many of the buildings along the main drag and scattered throughout the town (most built out of locally quarried stone and wood to reflect the simple architectural styles of Colorado in the late 1880s) punctuate the town’s “Old West” heritage that so many newcomers thirst for. Castle Rock provides a return to a simpler way of life, but with the conveniences and advantages of a modern lifestyle.
“With more than 100 community events each year, 6,000 acres of open space and 95 miles of trails, Castle Rock has a lot to offer,” said Tara Vargish, PE, Directory of Development Services for the Town
of Castle Rock.
“The Town also has abundant parks, good schools, great neighborhoods and a charming Downtown. Everything you need can be found within the community, and we’re also close to two large metro areas. These are just a few reasons why residents and business owners are attracted to our community to live, raise their families and start new businesses.”
There are a number of new projects well underway, ready to start construction or finalizing design plans that will give more people and companies the opportunity to call Castle Rock home:
Miller’s Landing is on a 65-acre-site, perched above Interstate 25 and Plum Creek Parkway and offers panoramic views. The team saw an opportunity to redevelop the site positioned between the 320-acre Philip S. Miller Park and Downtown Castle Rock, converting the unimproved land site into an economic engine and complementing nearby amenities such as bike trails, zip lines, the future Snowsports 365, local shops, restaurants and urban living opportunities. P3 Advisors, the Town of Castle Rock, and the Castle Rock Economic Development Council worked together to form a partnership that has attracted the private investment necessary to complete
the overall development of the site.
Together, these visionaries will bring to life approximately one million square feet, encompassing a full-service resort and conference center, retail, food and beverage, office and entertainment uses.
