Multi-Disciplinary Architecture Design Firm Expands to the Mountain West

Relativity Architects Excels in Multifamily, Hospitality, and Production Studio Projects

Award-winning Los Angeles firm Relativity Architects, known for its culturally relevant design approach, has expanded its multi-disciplinary design capabilities by opening a Colorado office to engage developers in the Mountain West. Relativity’s high-profile projects to date include several production studios for clients such as “Dancing with the Stars” and East End Studios. The firm also has expertise with multi-family housing communities, boutique hotels, mixed-use developments, and restaurants.

“We’re collaborating on several projects with Colorado firm Blue Accessibility Consultants,” says Relativity Architects’ partner Scott Sullivan, AIA, NCARB. “That relationship inspired us to open a joint office to expand our expertise to clients in the western states, where the population is surging. We have already built or rehabilitated more than 6,500 affordable housing units in California and 13,500-plus keys at national resorts with a focus on accessible spaces where people live, work, and play.”

Relativity’s Co-Founding Principals—Sullivan and Tima Bell, Assoc. AIA—and Associate Principal/Studio Director Ginna Claire Nguyen, Assoc. AIA, will lead Relativity Architects: Colorado, located in Colorado Springs.

Nguyen notes, “We’re seeing production-studio demand emerge in several regions outside of Southern California. Relativity Architects has a decade of experience creating ground-up production campuses in several countries and is also well versed in the design intricacies of converting warehouses into soundstages, adding power-intensive LED walls for special effects, and other amenities coveted by production companies.”

Glenn Staton, Accessibility Specialist at Blue, adds, “We’ve teamed with Relativity on several successful affordable housing, institutional, and hospitality projects nationwide, including Colorado resort projects in Avon, Durango, Estes Park, and Granby. We’re looking forward to joining forces with Relativity Architects: Colorado and expanding our joint portfolio throughout the west.”
