SMPS Colorado 2026 Marketing Excellence Award Presented to Colorado Construction & Design Magazine

Colorado Construction & Design magazine (CCD) is proud to announce that CCD Magazine received a 2026 SMPS Colorado Marketing Excellence Award for best Newsletter/Publication on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Balistreri Vineyards in Denver, Colorado.

Presented annually by SMPS Colorado, the Marketing Excellence Awards recognize outstanding achievement in marketing communications, creativity, and strategic industry engagement within the architecture, engineering, and construction community.

For CCD, the recognition carries special meaning as a publication built around storytelling, visibility, and strengthening industry connection across Colorado’s A/E/C landscape.

“Owning a magazine has always been a dream of mine, and to build that dream within the construction industry, a world I genuinely love, makes it incredibly meaningful,” said, President/Publisher of CCD Magazine. “At the heart of it all has always been a simple desire: to help people, bring visibility to their hard work, and make them feel proud of what they do. There is something deeply rewarding about seeing people light up when their projects, teams, and stories are recognized.”

Ayres added that some of the publication’s most meaningful impact happens far beyond business development or marketing visibility

“What inspires me most is learning that CCD’s impact goes beyond business or marketing. An Industry Icon once shared with me that throughout life, whenever they celebrated an accomplishment, a parent would often respond with, ‘You can do better.’ Years later, after sharing their CCD Industry Icon feature with that same parent who was battling early onset dementia, the response was different. Their parent looked at the feature and said, ‘That’s you… that’s you, son!’ and the tears flowed.

Those are the moments that stay with me. The stories we share connect people not only at work, but at home too. They become moments of reflection, pride, and connection shared with the people who matter most.”

CCD also extended appreciation to the many people and organizations contributing to the publication’s continued growth and industry presence.

“Thank you to SMPS Colorado for the recognition, to the esteemed judging panel for recognizing the value of what CCD brings to the A/E/C industry, and to our incredible industry partners, contributors, readers, and supporters who continue to inspire CCD’s growth, creative innovation, and commitment to keeping Colorado’s construction and design community connected.”

CCD congratulates all finalists and winners recognized during the evening’s celebration.
