 Adolfson & Peterson Construction Receives National Excellence in Construction Award

Park, CO have earned two National Excellence
in Construction® Eagle Awards from Associated Builders and Contractors. Representatives from the company received the top honor March 27 during ABC’s 29th annual Excellence in Construction® Awards gala at ABC Convention 2019 in Long Beach, California.
Natrona County High School Historic Renovations project’s win came in the General Contractor Historical Restoration/Renovation - $25 to $100
million category. The 115,000-sf historic portion of the building was renovated to include an updated theater, classrooms and administrative spaces. Demolition of
later additions to the original building, allowed for the 145,000-sf addition to include a new gymnasium, kitchen, commons, library, classrooms and labs.
The Estes Valley Community Recreation Center project took home the award in the General Contractor Institutional - $10 to $25 million category. The project began with renovating the existing aquatic center and reopening it in December 2017 for use. The 52,756-sf multigenerational community space was built as a large addition and includes senior services, library resources, family amenities, meeting rooms and gathering spaces.
Schnitzer West Acquires New Mixed-use Property
in Denver’s Flourishing Central Business District
The company plans to develop office and retail space in the burgeoning River North Art District
Schnitzer West, one of the West Coast’s fastest-growing real estate investment, development and property management companies, has announced the purchase of a parcel of land located at 3615 Delgany St., in the River North Art District (RiNo) of the Central Business District (CBD) of Denver. The acquisition of the Delgany property is the result of a partnership between Schnitzer West and Craft Companies, LLC, a Denver-based, multi-directional real estate firm.
Schnitzer West purchased the 34,250-square foot site with plans to develop a 12-story speculative office building containing nearly 200,000 rentable square
feet (RSF). Current site design includes one level of underground parking, five levels of above-grade podium parking and seven floors of office space. The first phase of construction is scheduled to begin Q1 2020.
ABC’s Colorado State University Student Chapter Wins First Place Overall in National Construction Management Competition
Twenty-one teams of undergraduate students
from colleges and universities nationwide put their construction project leadership skills to the test during Associated Builders and Contractors’ annual Construction Management Competition at ABC Convention 2019
in Long Beach, California, on March 24-28. The four- person teams, which were assigned to complete the same construction management project over two
days, received awards in five categories at the Careers
in Construction Awards ceremony at the convention’s conclusion. They were judged on project management, safety, quality control, estimating and presentation skills.
ABC Rocky Mountain Chapter’s competition team, comprised of members of the ABC Student Chapter at Colorado State University (CSU), won first place
overall in the competition. The CSU competition team members are Jack Jambor (Team Captain), Sean Furst, Chris Martin, Wade Sousa and Zac Frazier (alternate). They were accompanied by Faculty Advisor Jon Elliott as well as outgoing ABC Member Liaison Mike Menke and incoming Liaison Ty Eberhardt, both with FCI Constructors, Inc.
The team placed as follows:

• Second Place – Safety
• First Place – Overall
