John Forney joins McCarthy Building Companies as New Business Development Director
Industry veteran John Forney has joined McCarthy Building Companies’ Colorado office as director of business development. With more than 20 years of strategic business development and marketing communications expertise, he has specialized in numerous sectors including aviation, healthcare, higher education, federal and others.
“John brings our team a wealth of experience and knowledge that tightly aligns with our current and planned pursuits,” said Joe Brunsman, senior vice president for McCarthy in Colorado. “His ability to identify key market drivers, build a collaborative environment and serve as a trusted advisor to both internal and external stakeholders makes him an important part of our continued growth strategy across the state.”
As business development director at McCarthy’s Colorado office, he will be responsible for the growth of strategic relationships with potential clients, subcontractors and trade partners. He also will be in charge of identifying, qualifying and prioritizing opportunities as well as developing market strategies. Additionally, he will oversee marketing and marketing communications for the Colorado office.
Forney has been involved with construction and heavy industrial companies throughout his career. His previous experience has been varied and included stints with another national construction company, an architecture firm and an MEP engineering company. He holds a degree in journalism and advertising from the University of Kansas.
