Western Stock Show Association Celebrates The Legacy Topping Out
The Western Stock Show Association (WSSA), in partnership with Saunders Construction, proudly announces the topping out of the highly anticipated project, The Legacy, the organization’s forthcoming new home. This significant milestone marks the placement of the final beam on the structure, symbolizing the culmination of months of dedicated effort toward creating a new state-of-the-art facility in the heart of the National Western Center.
The Legacy will serve as the WSSA's new headquarters and a vital part of the National Western Center redevelopment. It will offer a modern space for events, educational programming, and community engagement. Designed to honor the rich history of the National Western Stock Show, the building incorporates sustainable practices and energy-efficient features to ensure it remains a beacon of heritage and progress for future generations.
Paul Andrews, CEO of WSSA, reflected on the importance of the occasion, saying, “The Legacy is more than just a new home for the WSSA – it’s a tribute to our western heritage and a promise for our future. Today’s topping out ceremony is a celebration of our shared history, and a look ahead to the limitless potential that this facility will bring to the agricultural community.”
Ryan Balakas, Vice President and General Manager of Saunders Construction, added, “Reaching this milestone is an important step in completing the Legacy Building. It demonstrates the significant progress we’ve made on the project schedule, and we’re proud to contribute to a project that will benefit the WSSA and the wider community for years to come.”
The Legacy will open its doors in time for Stock Show 2026, providing a space where tradition and innovation meet. This new facility will feature modern amenities and flexible spaces while paying homage to the rich legacy of one of the country’s most historic stock shows.
