Ware Malcomb Announces Completion of Basalite Plant in Fort Lupton Colorado

Ware Malcomb, an award-winning international design firm, has completed construction on the Basalite Plant at 1801 S. Rollie Ave. in Fort Lupton, Colorado. Ware Malcomb’s Denver and Pleasanton teams provided the civil engineering, architecture and interior design services for the project.

The approximately 197,000 square foot plant was built to manufacture concrete masonry units and pavers. The state-of-the-art manufacturing facility houses equipment up to 50’ tall with 60-foot ceilings in certain areas. The project contains approximately 9,000 square feet of office space including a lobby, conference rooms, breakrooms and an IT room. Related site work includes a waste area, a crush storage area, and outdoor product storage. In addition, Ware Malcomb’s civil engineering team designed a unique stormwater management system using retention ponds to solve for the lack of drainage on the property.

Project construction was led by General Contractor Murray and Stafford. Basalite is one of the largest suppliers of concrete masonry products in Western North America and manufactures hundreds of types and styles of concrete structural block, often working with architects to create effects that showcase a building’s design.
