 Education Project Round Up
Columbine High School - Turf and Field Improvements
ECI Tackles Turf and Field Improvements for Jeffco Public Schools
ECI Site Construction Management, Inc. is currently leading a series of District-Wide Field Improvements for Jeffco Public Schools. The first phase of improvements was completed in fall 2019 and included sitework for nine schools – ECI’s largest contract to date. The second wave began in spring 2002 and is expected to be completed in late summer 2020. The six schools featured in phase two are Arvada
West High School, Columbine High School, Green Mountain High School, Golden High School, Pomona High School and Standley Lake High School.
This multifaceted project involves replacing grass sports fields with synthetic turf and installing post-tension tennis courts and track facilities. These upgraded fields and tracks are made to last for approximately 30 years, with a promise of
durability for numerous sporting events.
As the project’s general contractor, ECI is placing strong emphasis on subcontractor relations, innovative solutions, strategic scheduling and compensating for resource voids with a strong self-perform team. The Jeffco Public Schools project is led by Tony Perdue, Senior Project Manager, and Tyler Hitchcock, Superintendent. ECI is pleased to collaborate with Renner Sports Surfaces and Academy Sports Turf.
The renovations are part of an extensive voter-approved $567 million capital improvement program that includes both internal and external updates. Prior to the Jeffco Public Schools projects, ECI has led turf and field improvements for Westgate Community School, Denver West High School and JFK High School, as well as promenade and plaza
Green Mountain High School Renovation Project Breaks Ground
A groundbreaking ceremony was held in May to celebrate the start of renovations, additions, and upgrades to Green Mountain High School, part of Jeffco Public Schools.
The general contractor for the project is GE Johnson Construction Co. The small event was attended by Green Mountain High School leaders, teachers, and community members, in addition to project team members from MOA Architecture, ECI, and JeffCo Public Schools’ construction management. The school’s Superintendent, Dr. Jason Glass; GMHS Principal, Colleen Owens; and the school board president each spoke at this event, which was livestreamed due to current public health order restrictions on public gatherings.
This will be the second large scale renovation in Green Mountain High School history since being built in 1971. Scope of the renovations include a new main entrance,
