Elizabeth Jones, PE, SE, has succeeded Ben Nelson as the Director of Structural Engineering for Martin/Martin, Inc.

Elizabeth has 37 years of industry experience, devoting the last 14 years to a management role within Martin/Martin’s Structural Department. Prior to joining Martin/Martin, Elizabeth was a principal with KPFF Consulting Engineers, where she led branch offices in San Diego and then Denver. Elizabeth joined Martin/Martin in 2008, quickly becoming an integral member of leadership for the firm.

Elizabeth earned her bachelor’s degree from Princeton University and her master's degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Her experience includes extensive investigative projects, encompassing restoration, repair, and renovation work, as well as new construction work on multiple project types. Following a period of training during the transfer of responsibilities from Ben Nelson, Elizabeth’s title changed to “Director of Structural Engineering” as of May 1, 2022. Ben, stepping down from the position after eight years, will return to a structural engineering management and production role.

“I am very excited to have been selected to be the new Director of Structural Engineering at Martin/Martin”, said Elizabeth. “During the last eight years, Ben Nelson has successfully led our department through a period of growth – in people, office locations, and services offered. I look forward to building on that success, focusing on quality, diversity of services/projects, and employee engagement, while serving our clients and community.”

Currently boasting nearly 150 structural engineers and technical staff, in seven different offices and additional remote locations, Elizabeth will lead the largest structural department in Martin/Martin’s history. Still growing, the department is actively looking to hire for both starting and experienced positions.
