Haselden Construction Celebrates the Groundbreaking of an Expansion and Renovation at Arrupe Jesuit High School

This renovation and addition expands existing education opportunities and offerings available to students.

Denver, CO – Arrupe Jesuit celebrated the groundbreaking of their expansion and renovation in partnership with Haselden Construction and MOA Architecture. Funded by the Lead the Way Capital Campaign, this project marks the beginning of an ongoing effort to create more opportunities for the students and families they serve. Currently, Arrupe Jesuit has an enrollment of about 420 students, with a goal to increase to 500 students once the project is complete.

“We are here this morning celebrating this project and everything it represents because of the answers to the questions we asked five years ago.” Remarked Arrupe Jesuit President Michael O’Hagan, “The Arrupe community has chosen to honor our students’ hard work, their brilliance, and their fortitude by providing them an updated and improved facility. One that we know will foster their continued growth.”

This expansion and renovation will enhance Arrupe Jesuit’s educational offerings and support long-term growth. Planning for the project began in 2019 with the goal of positioning the school as a 100-year institution. It will add a new gymnasium, an updated STEM wing, a hands-on "makerspace," student activity areas, and a new entrance designed to enhance safety for the Generals community. These additions will not only broaden the academic and extracurricular opportunities available to students but also support a growing student body. Delivering on its promise of opening the doors of opportunity, over 68% of all graduates have been the first-generation of their families to graduate from high school, and over 89% of graduates became first-generation college bound.

“We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to bring this project to life and give back to the community,” stated Byron Haselden, CEO and President of Haselden Construction, “It is an honor to support Arrupe Jesuit, and we look forward to a successful project that will enhance the school’s future.”
