Heroes Around Every Corner – GTC Team Members Save a Life at Job Site
GTC team members jump into action after a man collapses at Springfield School District job site.
On Monday February 6, three of GTC’s team members sprang into action after they witnessed a local man collapse.
While working out at the Springfield weights facility, three team members, Kory Olson, Bryson Long and Jacob Philipsen noticed a man collapse from a suspected heart attack. Kory Olson rushed to the man to give him CPR, while Jacob and Bryson were able to call 911.
Kory continued CPR until the paramedics arrived. After the paramedics arrived, they gave the man medical attention and were able to bring him back to life with the use of an AED. The man left the scene alive, and they have been informed that he is recovering well.
“The only thing I’d ever need to do in these situations would be to thank god for having me at the right place when I needed to be there,” Kory said after. “Get some kind of training in CPR, you never know when you’ll need it.”
All GTC team members on our sites are required to be CPR or First Aid certified, however while in a situation like this, it can be stressful and overwhelming. Kory, Bryson and Jacob took all that they learned and used it to save someone’s life.
