Brinkmann Constructors Completes The Gallery at Fort Collins Senior Living Community

Brinkmann Constructors has completed The Gallery at Fort Collins, a premier assisted living and memory care community. Developed in partnership with Experience Senior Living (ESL), this project marks Brinkmann’s third collaboration with ESL.

The five-story, 158,000-square-foot community features 144 residential units, including 117 assisted living units and 27 memory care units, totaling 158 beds. Situated on 3.6 acres, the development also includes a partial below-grade parking structure with 34 stalls, along with expansive indoor and outdoor amenities designed to enhance residents’ quality of life.

The Gallery Senior Living Design: A Home for Mom & Dad

Designed as a “home for mom and dad,” The Gallery provides a safe, engaging, and elegant environment for aging adults. The community features thoughtfully designed spaces, including a two-story grand hall, rooftop garden, courtyards, theater, library, pub, and multiple gathering areas, all designed to foster connection, wellness, and a strong sense of belonging..

“This project reflects our team’s relentless pursuit of quality and commitment to our clients,” said Ron Bokinskie, project director for Brinkmann Constructors. “Despite some design and constructability challenges, the team stayed focused, adaptable, and solutions-driven to deliver a community that residents can truly call home.”

Originally designed as a wood-framed structure, the project underwent a major transition to non-combustible construction using concrete and light-gauge metal framing, requiring innovative problem-solving and close coordination among project partners. Brinkmann’s team worked diligently with Experience Senior Living to translate design intent across construction types while maintaining quality and performance standards.

Key features and innovations of this senior living project include:

  • Advanced fire and smoke zoning systems.
  • Voice horizontal relocation fire alarm system to enhance resident safety.
  • Durable, non-combustible building construction.
  • High-end finishes and amenity-rich common areas.

Key project partners included Bret’s Electric, Diversified Builders, Lind’s Plumbing, AP Construction, and Sigcom.

Brinkmann Educates and Strengthens Community Ties

Brinkmann also extended its impact beyond the jobsite by partnering with Colorado State University. The team hosted multiple educational sessions for 40 to 60 students, providing hands-on learning opportunities and strengthening ties with the local community.

“This project is a testament to Brinkmann’s client-focused approach,” said Bokinskie. “We remained committed to adapting, seeking clarity, and delivering the highest level of service, even as project conditions evolved.”

The completion of The Gallery at Fort Collins further strengthens Brinkmann’s relationship with Experience Senior Living and opens the door for continued collaboration on future developments, including upcoming opportunities in Florida. With residents now moving in, The Gallery at Fort Collins stands as a new benchmark for senior living in Northern Colorado, blending thoughtful design, safety, and community-centered living.
